Details
- Knots have a long history. in the past they were an integral part of daily life, indespensable for seamen, craftsmen and farmers. It seems nowadays that knots have been pushed back to recreational purposes. Knots have however experienced a small renaissance and that is to be found in the arboricultural industry. Above all it is the friction knots that have been refound, invented and optimized by tree climbers.
- Dirk Lingens, a german arborist and self confesssed knot junkie, has collected and recorded knots commonly used in the arboricultural industry. There are also a few exotic and uncommon knots, some are published here for the first time. The book is not only useful for the arborist but anyone with an interest in knots.
